Wow! I can't believe the summer has flown by so quickly. I know we haven't updated in awhile, and maybe that's because most of our followers are right here in Maine, so our updates have been more personal. But I thought I'd take a few minutes to let you all know what is going on in the next few weeks.

First, this summer really has gone by quickly. I've been working through a temp service for a great company here in Lewiston. They publish text books, and I've gotten to do a LOT of reading. There is an opportunity to return each year as they hire summer help for their busy season. I've met a lot of very nice, and very smart, people and have really enjoyed the work.

Scott has not been so fortunate. He did take work as a flagger, but has not enjoyed it. While it was great for his tan, it was hot, thankless, and unreliable financially. This experience, however, has helped us redefine our goals going forward.

We did, however, (and by we, I mean Scott and our friend Ken) complete the repairs to Marabelle. The front end overhead has been given a new floor, reattached and resealed. She's looking good, and the few times we've taken her out, she's been raring to go!

We will be leaving Maine sometime between September 20 and September 27 and heading south. We plan to stop in Connecticut, Maryland, and finally Florida, where we plan to stay for at least the winter. Scott will be looking for meaningful work, and I will find something near to where we stay.

One other note, our cat Tails was allowed outside this summer and subsequently has disappeared. He was last seen around June 20th. He is 15. I am still hoping he will come back before we go, but I know the landowner here will take him in if he returns after we are gone. I miss him, but I know he was so happy the last month he was with us. He really enjoyed being outside again.

Until next time, remember, all those who wander are not lost!
